The Continuing Saga of the Art Journal...LOL...

Wednesday, July 25, 2007 Edit This 2 Comments »
Hello!! Happy Greetings!!! Well--it's been storming, and I had to hide from the scaredy-cat dog, and the husband...so I picked up my journal....Tomorrow Petey is going to the doctor's for a bath, shots, and his fixin'...lol....no more chasing the local lady doggies for Petey...Time to get fat and lazy...and live inside the house. Poor Petey...imagine going to the doc, a male--and coming back without.....lol (if it were only that easy for ummm...men...lol).

I got some Anna Griffin rose paper (see background) today. It is GORGEOUS!!! I want to wallpaper my house with it. I adore it. The hand holding the fish is actually the queen's hand that I cut off, and moved over. The bird is an antique silk cigarette card. It's beautiful--so soft...I have words to go on the journal pages, but haven't added them yet. I found something that I like today on an Enigma CD...it says "Basic instincts, social life--Paradoxes side by side. Don't submit to stupid rules--be yourself, and not a fool. Don't accept average habits--Open your heart, and push the limits." It's going to be written in tiny letters, but it'll be there. I liked it when my husband read it to me today.

The mechanic here went on vacation, so I couldn't get my shocks on my car fixed, and that means--at least for now--my gambling trip is on hold. I am kind of glad, since I don't want to drive for 5 hours to get there, and five hours back. It's more because my husband wants to go, but I can do without it. Anyway.. that's all folks....Have a happy productive artful evening!!!

More Journal

This is the next two pages of my art journal. I went hog wild on them...lol..
Then I toned them down with a wash of gesso, and added words. ***sigh...I don't have much to add. Nothing much has happened lately...I guess I have been just taking life easy, and waiting for this trip that we may take. Then on Monday, I will be gone every day on the 450 mile long yard sale....I guess I need to be taking it easy...LOL.

I appreciate all the super nice comments that you have been leaving on my blog. It makes my day!! Thank you!!

Well, I am even boring myself, so I won't bore you anymore...not tonight anyways....lol....

I Have Been BUSY--Artwords Challenge--Pages 7 & 8 of my Art Journal--and MORE!

Monday, July 23, 2007 Edit This 6 Comments »
This is my Artwords Challenge--Numbers. It is a 5 x 7 canvas panel, with multi-layers, acrylic paint, colored gel pencils, scrapbook paper, vintage images, gesso, and stamps.
Here are pages 7 & 8 of my Art Journal. I really like the way they turned out!! I hope you all feel the same!!
This is a piece that just sort of came together today (I had done the basic part of it weeks ago)--I really wanted to use the torn picture on something. It's part of an 1800's print. It was torn up when I got it, but I just loved the pieces. The skirt at the bottom is paper stuff that they put around cakes. This piece is about 12 x 8 inches.
This is a carry over from the Travel/Vacation ATC in the post below. It is 6 x 6 inches, and I really wanted to use this camel image. He is soooo COOL!!!
This is a 4 x 4 that I did. I used striping tape (for painting cars) around the edges. Then I rubbed black paint over it.
This one looks much better in person--but I couldn't get a good picture of it, and got tired of trying.
Well--that's it. I am tired, but very happy. It was an extremely productive day for me. It is time for The Closer, and then Saving Grace....everyone have a wonderful happy night!!!

Hi Ho Hi Ho...off to work I go...

Saturday, July 21, 2007 Edit This 1 Comment »
Ok--it wasn't work in the typical sense--but we went yard saling this morning. Since, I sell antiques and collectibles for a living--it is my work. I did well..but didn't get much. I bought 34 large items, and paid an average of $2.32 per an item. I bought 3 wall clocks, a statue of a woman's bust, a folk art stool with a moon carved on the seat, a neat bamboo plant stand shaped like a bicycle, a birdcage, a vintage bedspread, several willow doll chairs, a doll, and more...nothing spectacular, but all things that will sell in the $10 -- $15 range. No Highwaymen paintings or anything, but I had fun--so I am happy.

I have to get my Etsy shop up and running. Halloween is fast approaching, and I need to be ready for it. I am also looking into several other sites. First, we have to close on the refinancing of our house, and I need a gambling trip--Wonder if they will let me take my glue and cut ups into the casino with me...LOL.

After the casino trip this next weekend--on Monday, we will start shopping on the famous 450-mile yard sale. That will consume me for at least 5 days. (We go every day from 4:30 am until 4:30 pm), and buy a ton of stuff. ( Last year we filled the car as full as we could 4 times, and a van twice...). It's hot, and the heat almost kills ya, but as an antique dealer--you get enough goodies to sell, and make money for a while. (It actually starts on Thursday--officially--but if you start on Monday, and go every day--you get some great stuff before anyone else...heheheh).

THEN, that weekend, we have to sell on our town square...so, let's see--I have until Wednesday with ya'll, and then I will be away (not away from my blog--just out going and going)...until the 6th of August. Of course, after all that hard labor, and working--I will possibly need another gambling trip...LOL.. (we just take $100 each, and gamble for ever how long that last). One of my "gambling trips" (I lived an hour away at the time) while I was living in Florida, lasted 26 whole minutes. LOL. Well--enough rambling for now...I need to get busy pricing and packing all that I bought today.

This is my cover--I took a regular hardcover journal, added my favorite scrapbook paper on the cover (Basic Grey Color Me Silly), stamped all over it, and then added a real metal coat hanger with a little crocheted dress.

Then, I opened the first page...and went nuts...LOL..It was so much fun!!! The pink page is all of my birth info...and the second page was when I moved to Pensacola, FL on Halloween night 1965....I glued, painted, scribbled, smeared, tore...Everything..This was really relaxing while I was nursing SHE WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING back to health...LOL.

His Name is Petey..and I Think He Sleepwalks....

Thursday, July 19, 2007 Edit This 2 Comments »
Well...I have insomnia..can't sleep--too restless..so I guess I will tell you about Petey. A month or so ago, this dog walked up into our yard. He was a golden color, with ears that flopped just right, and the cutest expression on his face. We tried to get him to go away. We "shoo-ed" him, and told him to go home. He never left. His ribs were showing, and he looked hungry...so I fed him our leftovers for a night or two...(I usually don't feed strays..don't know what came over me)...Anyway--around the 3rd day--I was in Walmarts, and decided to buy him a bag of food. He didn't like it, and would not eat. So, I started boiling him chicken legs and thighs, and mixing it in so that he would eat (after I pulled the meat off of the bones, and cooled it a little in the freezer)...he loved that. I ran out of chicken--we live VERY far in the middle of nowhere--and you can't just RUN to the store whenever--so, I started cooking him deer meat...Here I am--cooking for a dog at 6am, and 6pm--just because he looked hungry. (he no longer looks hungry--he is getting BIG, and he's all muscle).

To make a long story shorter, he's pretty much attached to my husband and I (he has mixed feelings about SHE WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING--he repeatedly tinkles on the front of her car...**snicker...) A few days ago we named this dog Petey. Now, we ALL KNOW, once you name an animal--it is yours.

This dog lovessssssssss us. I mean he's all tail wagging, jumping for joy, loving us. ...Until he goes to sleep. I go outside at night to smoke, and he comes out, and looks at me like he has amnesia...no tail wagging, no jumping for joy, nothing. He walks in front of me, sits and stares blankly. He doesn't come when he's called...nothing. Total Zombie Dog. Sometimes, he lays down, and goes back to sleep. If I touch him when he's like this--he flinches. It's the funniest thing....and he gets BAGS under his eyes...like a man who hasn't slept in days. So, I think Petey is sleepwalking. I will have to ask the vet next week when I take Petey in there to get de-flea'd, and de-ticked (just in case he has those things), he needs his shots and he has to be repaired...LOL..um..I mean fixed. (It's going to be a BAD day for ole' Petey). Then he gets to come inside and live. Sleepwalking or not--I am beginning to wonder who owns who here???

I Might Start A Second Blog, New Work and I Found All of My Books!!!

Wednesday, July 18, 2007 Edit This 4 Comments »
Hello!! I am toying with an idea for a second blog. I think that it'll be a blog where I upload stuff, and ya'll can copy it if you would like....umm..I am also thinking of calling it Fluffy Fatbottom Rides Again...LOL..what do you think?

My husband and I had a day off of the computers, went thrifting and out to lunch. I got my house cleaned, and did this. We got a few cool things. I found a whole box of WW2 metals, and more books....just what I need. More books to cut up and paste...LOL...I have about 300--and I just keep buying and buying.

I cleaned the art room, and found all of my books--(except Alphabetica...I must have left it somewhere...ummm). I found-- 2 Collage Discovery Workshops (two different ones) by Claudine Hellmuth, Artist Trading Cards by Bernie Berlin, Tim Holtz Distressables 2 (which I didn't even know that I owed--LOL), Altered Art by Terry Taylor, Artist Journals and sketchbooks by Lynne Perella ( I bought this the other night, so I knew where it was kinda), Kaleidoscope by Suzanne Simanaitis , Pretty Little Things by Sally Jean Alexander, and my personal favorite (because I tend to look at pictures, rather than READ these books--) Fanciful Paper Projects by Sandra Everston. I also found 11 magazines having to do with altered art (Stampington, and Altered Art ). I think I am going to sit down and read all the books from cover to cover, and take notes, and do the excercises in them.

Then we came home, and played Frisbee with my dog, and then in she walks....SHE THAT KNOWS EVERYTHING...and she looks like poop...and she brings the flu into my home....and so I whisk her into her bed, and cover her up, being very careful not to breathe her air...I get her some cold medicine (I am turning blue by this time)..and then I sprayed a can of Lysol outside of her door. Good Lord--why is the only time kids need their mommy--they are 1)sick or 2) broke...She hit me up for money yesterday--so I know it's the flu...LOL. I will have to make a midnight run to Walmart for more germicide ....um..I mean Lysol. Oh I hate when she's sick. I always get it...because I am never sick..rarely..knock on wood...except when she is sick, and she breathes on me...

Anyway--I want to go through my books in the next few weeks, and see what I can get from them. I need to go visit my Blogland friends now...we'll talk soon...everyone have a good night!!

Another TMTA Challenge--ASIA and Inspire Me Thursday--BOLD

Tuesday, July 17, 2007 Edit This 21 Comments »
This is another ATC that I made this morning for the weekly TMTA challenge--Asia. It is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. I was born in 1964, which makes me a dragon (and in late November--which makes me a Sagitarrius). So that means...I ummm...am...29 years old..RIGHT???? LOL.

This one is 5 X 7 inches, and is for the Inspire Me Thursday challenge of BOLD. This is very bold for me! A step forward...
Hope you all don't mind that I put them together. I want to get them on here, but have lots to do today. Have a wonderful Happy day!!!

Oh my God--this is so...I don't even know the word to use...touching, awe-inspiring, REAL...this artist is doing a collage/assemblage on the Holocaust..it is beautiful art, and heart rendering reading. RED VELVET is the name of it.

SOMETHING HORRIBLE IS HAPPENING!! SOMETHING WONDERFUL HAPPENED, AND I AM TELLING THE SECRET!!

Monday, July 16, 2007 Edit This 3 Comments »

First--my newest piece--it's 5x7 inches on canvas. Now on with the GOOD StuFF!!!
The most wonderful, awesome, nicest biker babe in the whole world -- Miz Smoochie Lips is so nicely sending me...."Tramp, Tramp, Tramp"....I love it, love it, love it!!!! (I told ya'll it was screaming my name!)...and I thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! This was such a kind gesture on your part Smoochie--and I really, really appreciate it!! I love it so much that I have decided to give you my first born....LOL..YES!! THAT's Right!! SHE THAT KNOWS EVERYTHING is YOURS now...lol..OK..so that's not a grand prize...but..it's my most prized posession...

Now--for the horrible news--(always save the worse for last)--my art room is eating my expensive, fancy collage books. I cannot find many of them...Pretty Things, Collage Lost and Found, a really cool one by Sandra Everston ( I hope that is right--because I am going on memory here), Alphabetica (which I hope that I did not leave at Barnes and Nobles, because I do not remember actually reading it--though I KNOW I bought it), and one by Claudine Hellmuth--which I read, and can't find. Now, I understand misplacing one book...maybe two--BUT FIVE???????? The art room is EATING them...or my husband is HIDING them...ummmm...or there is a crazed collage artist thief on the loose...or, I think too much, and have "put them up"...LOL..I am too young to be loosing things --- obviously I am loosing my mind too...LOL..maybe my room is like "Toy Story", and it all comes to life when I leave it...ummmm....if I were a stack of fancy, smancy collage books...where would I hide???

On a better note--Lori from Faerie Window has some very pretty, very cute, very beautiful cones for sell in her Etsy shop. I also saw them called Tussie Mussies...anyways...they are fantastic!!! Remember Christmas is just around the corner, and everyone has a friend who has everything--and these are VERY NICE ones.....so you better hurry over...

Well..that's about it!! I have to go cook dinner. SHE WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING and I are having a slumber party tonight....Everyone have a wonderful, wonderful evening!!!!

Think Monday Think ATC Challenge--Asia

This week's TMTA challenge is Asia. The first thing that I thought of was Chinese Buffett...but I couldn't find a picture of one....LOL...So..the next thing I thought of was dragonflies and Luck. I happen to have the Geisha just hanging on my wall, so I used that. The background is a page out of the King James Bible in Japanese or Chinese.

DCM Weekly Challenge--Habberdashery

Sunday, July 15, 2007 Edit This 16 Comments »
This week's Daring Card Makers challenge was to use things from a Habberdashery. I glued two sided paper to a zipper (which REALLY unzips...), and used vintage rick rack, a tape measure, an applique', and buttons.....my "stitches" are handpainted with a paint pen. I stamped the words Happy Birthday, and the image is a vintage paper doll (photocopy).

New Work --Today's Efforts--and Someone Is Sending Me Something...

Friday, July 13, 2007 Edit This 6 Comments »

This is what I spent all day doing...It's BIG..about 7 x 14 inches. I was thinking of mother and child, and generations of that relationship. The picture started out as one thing, and kept revolving...It was amazing!! The feelings that I got in doing this. It was hard, because I don't actually have a mother..Well, technically I had one--but she was the egg donor, and gone by the time I was 11 months old. So, I had to do this as I was seeing it through SHE WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING's eyes...kinda...does that make sense??? Anyway..I kept thinking of my grandmother who raised me. She was my mother, and grandmother all rolled into one. I think in fact, that I will call it "GRACE". That is her name.

I really used a lot of layering. I gesso-ed over the main paper, and the stamping, and the music sheet. Then I distressed most of the pieces. The thing that amazes me most is that the stamping around the edges didn't come out harsh and crude as usual. I used a very delicate hand in stamping them.(Which is way hard for ME--MISS HEAVY HAND CRAZY STAMPER)..The grandmother in the corner, and the woman in the frame are actually raised up off of the canvas. The nude woman is a contact paper transfer. I chalked the infant in the womb, and added a real dried tiny rose to the corner... the words are hard to read... I used WISDOM over by the grandmother, TRIBUTE TO A MOTHER on the nude woman, LIFE on the tree, and INSPIRATION down in the corner.
The quote says:

"You may give them your love but not
your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies, but not
their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of
tomorrow, which you cannot visit,
not even in your dreams.
You may strive to like them, but
seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries
with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your
children as living arrows are sent forth.
~~Kahlil Gibran~~

"GRACE" Suzan B. 2007

The first picture is more true to color.

Someone is sending me something. It's a very GOOD something....I can't wait to tell what it is--but I must wait until the person doing the sending says it's alright....llalallalallalalaal...***skipping around in circles...I have a secret...I have a secret...lalalallalallala....Ok..I have to go now. My dinner is getting cold--hope you like this!

Busy Day Yesterday!

Thursday, July 12, 2007 Edit This 3 Comments »
Good Happy Morning!! I was gone all day yesterday! I drove my husband to take his college mid-term, and of course had to go thrifting. I found a few things..but Wednesdays aren't typically a good day for thrifting. I did get a lot of books, and some little wooden houses, which I will make some cute things out of.

After his exam for his Shakespeare class--we went and hung out at Barnes & Noble (where I could just absolutely live in)..I love that place!! I ended up spending a few bucks. I got Stampington's Inspiration magazine, and another Stampington magazine--but I don't which one it was. I also got 2 books. One is about Journals, and the other is ....Kaleidascope...did I spell that right?? (Too lazy to walk to the living room, and GET the books to tell you what I bought). The journal book is by Lynne Perella. WONDERFUL!!

THEN....I called SHE THAT KNOWS EVERYTHING and asked if she wanted to meet us and go see HARRY POTTER...and she did (she never turns down anything in which I foot the bill...lol). We went to see the movie--it was good. The books are so much better!!!Little Harry is just getting downright BUFF...WOW..when will he turn 18, so I can drool over him??? I can't do it until he's legal...but he is turning into a very handsome young man!! Now, all I have to do is wait until the 21st, when I can get the latest book. (At which time--I will become blog-absent until I have read the whole thing).

I know I need to get busy with several things--art, Etsy, more art...I have been slacking lately. If you want to see some FANTASTIC things...skip on over to Faerie Window, Lori has really made some beautiful things, and they are for sell at her Etsy shop. (She obviously has things more together than ME...lol). Also, Miz Smoochie Lips has a few great things to show you. One has "tramp, tramp, tramp" written across the top, and it's SCREAMING MY NAME!!! I want it so bad!!LOL...

Ok..today I have to--go to the print shop, photograph my goodies from the bunny swap, and the things Lori sent me..., take the stray dog that I have adopted to the vet--and get him health-ified so that he can come live in my house--(against my husband's wishes--but, we must remember who is QUEEN in THIS HOUSE). I have to, have to, have to clean up my art room, because you cannot even get in the door unless you go in sideways, and kinda slide through the debris to the table.

I am starving. I ate 2 little hamburgers yesterday around 11am, and some popcorn at the movie, and haven't eaten anything else...so FIRST, I have to go make me something to devour---ummm....I mean, eat. So, everyone have a wonderfully HAPPY day!!!!

It's Real!! It's REAL!! (JUMPING UP AND DOWN)

Well..I had an antique dealer that specializes in Highwaymen art look at pictures of my painting.(see post below!!)..and he offered MONEY. I am gonna have to decline his offer though. He has to make money on it, and he probably offered me 1/3 of what it's worth..SO...WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO.....For the $4 or less that I paid for it, I will just keep it--until I find a buyer...***Happy dancing here...

I Found A Little Something This Weekend---

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 Edit This 3 Comments »
I was out thrifting this past Saturday with my friend Sandy--it was pouring down rain, and there was a huge wooden sign that said yard sale....LOL..so we drive up this driveway, and there is a garage...and we jump out...and we bought A TON of stuff. Sandy bought an oak pedestal table, some glassware,etc...I bought some old chalkware, an old globe, a bunch of glassware, some cast iron pieces, an old schoolhouse chalkboard with oak molding, a couple of Made in Japan things, an old battery tester, a primitive thingamaboodle (rust and wood), a lot of things....and this....

It is signed S. Newton--you can read about him, and others here , or here. I think it's an original Highwaymen painting. I am waiting for a gallery in Florida to return my call...It could be worth a small chunk of money...or NOTHING...***sigh...Let's hope for the best!!! The man asked $4 for it, but then he ended up rounding what I owed him to $50--I got more than 25 items, so that's less than $2 for it....hehehehhehe.

"About the Artists:The HighwaymenClick on any image to enlarge. In 1995, art critic Jim Fitch in an article for Antiques & Art Around Florida (Winter/Spring 1995 issue) bestowed the name "The Highwaymen" on a group of black artists who have been working on the East coast of Florida from approximately 1955 to the present. He chose the name "The Highwaymen" for the artists, because their marketing and sales strategy consisted of traveling the highways and byways of central Florida peddling their paintings out of the back of their cars. While some of the original artists are still living, in other parts of the country they are still relatively unknown and have not yet received proper credit for their contribution to Florida's art tradition. It was these artists, in fact, who were the bare bones beginning for Florida's resident/regional art tradition. Further, their paintings met a growing demand for regional Florida art and served to encourage what has become the Indian River school of painting, perhaps the only school or movement within the state that is recognizable as such.

The story of the Highwaymen begins with one man, now deceased, who has come to be known as the dean of Florida landscape painters, A. E. "Bean" Backus of Fort Pierce. Backus's career began to blossom in 1950, about the time he married. After Backus lost his much loved wife to complications from heart surgery in 1955, he devoted himself to his art, the daily consumption of a quantity of rum, good conversation, and good friends.

Although Bean was a white Southerner during a time when racial equality was not yet taken seriously, he was a friend to all. This characteristic, coupled with a natural Bohemian bent, made him the perfect mentor to a group of young black men who had noted the apparent ease with which he made a living."---taken from the website above.

I helped SHE THAT KNOWS EVERYTHING move this weekend. She was living with two icky roommates, and needed to get away from that. In the backseat of her car, I found 1)My bunny swap package, and 2)Lori's (from Fairie Window) envelope of vintage wallpaper....***sigh. I asked SHE THAT KNOWS EVERYTHING (my daughter for new readers) to mail this stuff days ago. I gave her money to mail it....My packages didn't get mailed, and my money is gone. I keep telling myself that she is only 20, only 20, only 20...(chanting this like a mantra)....So, I imagine that my bunny swap partner thinks she got stiffed. (we had agreed to mail ours late, because both of us needed to)...I hope she forgot to mail mine...I hope she's gonna be running to the post office in the morning, and I hope mine isn't on it's way.

Daring Cardmakers--Cartoon Challenge

Thursday, July 05, 2007 Edit This 12 Comments »

Daring Card Makers snuck in a second challenge this week--It is a cartoon theme.

First, I was unsure if this one had to have beads too (and being unsure--I left it beadless)...and Second, if you get the scrapbooking paper licensed by Disney--is it copyright infringement if you use it?? Ummmm...Oh well...Here I am if the Disney police want to come and get me....lol...

The words say "It takes courage to grow up and be who you really are."

blah, blah, blah....

hello! I had an absolutely lazy day today! I hope all of you had a great 4th!! Tomorrow it's back to the real world, and I might go get a job. LOL...I am tired of sitting around the house--I need something to do. I get bored very easily--and since we closed our antique store, I haven't done much of anything--yeah, a couple of trips to Florida, a few trade days of selling my wares, some thrifting, a lot of art--and a gambling trip..(OH...I forgot to mention the gambling trip???)..LOL...I won $31 dollars over what I took. My husband won $0 ...LOL.

Anyway--I did this piece tonight, after I woke up from my nap. I am so much like a child--I need a nap every day--so that I can stay up until 3am-4am...

If you have a moment--check out this site--Altered Chix. They have some great artist, and some FREEBIES. You all know how I love freebies!!

There is a list of artist on there--and this one is FABULOUS!! It's called Caryls Realm. I am looking at it right now....YES---at the same time that I am blogging!! I tell ya, I HAVE to multi-task. I cannot do one thing at a time. This woman's site has art on it that makes me drool. OMG!!! I love her!!! I feel so inferior when I see stuff like this--it's fabulousicious!!! (that is not a word, is it?) I just left her a post that sounded like a love-struck teenager...lol..she's gonna read it, and think "oh my god--this woman's a freak..." lol..

Clicking her "older post" button now--***breathless...Oh, I have so far to go on this journey....I spoke to my friend Lana tonight--(retired teacher, I spoke of many post ago)..and she (being the sweetheart that she is) said she sees progress in my work...LOL...I want to be better now!!!(throwing my "impatient child fit")..(stomping my feet!!)...

Ok--on to the next artist--I never get tired of looking at all of your wonderful art out there! There are just so many GREAT artist. Many of you, I visit your blogs at least every other day. It amazes me regularly how much TALENT is out there in blogland. Yuck..the next site that I went to had a bouncing banner...too much activity for my brain.

Well..I am pretty much rambling about NOTHING at this point..so, I will stop boring you all, and go away...Everyone have a great night, and sweet dreams!!!

Wednesday Stamper--Buttons and 3 new pieces

Wednesday, July 04, 2007 Edit This 24 Comments »
This is my Wednesday Stamper challenge. It was for Buttons. This started out to be a small 4x4, with border stamping, a vintage pattern, and words...but then I put it on a 6x6 piece of canvas, and added plastic letters, and vintage buttons from my collection. Hope you enjoy it (especially after last week's hat catastrophe!).
I did these 3 this morning also...while waiting for a program to load, and check out my computer.

GOOD HAPPY MORNING!!! 3 new pieces

Tuesday, July 03, 2007 Edit This 1 Comment »
Good Morning! I have been productive this morning--at least with creativity--definitely not with things that HAVE to be done. My dishes are piled up, my living room looks like a tornado went through a flea market, and I will probably have to do laundry before I leave the house today, or wear my husband's clothes...which is a possibility--LOL..he does his laundry, but usually not mine. Oh well...housework makes you ugly..don't you think?? I am not even going to tell you how messy my artroom is--it is hellacious!! On the positive note--I woke up in a good mood, and I made something. This first one ...I like it, but that top piece with the words "Now I lay me..." The contact paper transfer of the little girl turned out great (in my opinion).

This one is bright, and happy. I am really happy how it turned out, and it looks better in person. I was too lazy to keep fighting with the camera, so I showed it anyway.
This one looks better in real too...but it's ok on here..I guess.
We have to go to town again today. Bill paying day--yuck!! I should mail them, but I like doing it in person--and since the town is so small--it's not a problem. I like giving them all a hard time too...LOL..kind of a payback for taking my money every month...Well..I have got to run.

OH I FORGOT TO TELL YOU--I bought the most beautiful French shabby chic pitcher yesterday for $1. It's so pretty!! It is white, with roses all over it, and has an old french mark on the bottom. I will show pictures later.

Have a wonderful happy day!!

Scans

These are from one of the books--even the black and white pictures are vibrant! I love this!! The book is dated 1946. It cost .25 cents! What a wonderful find!! Feel free to copy, or if you need bigger scans just let me know, and I'll email them to you.

HELLO!!!

Hello!! Long time, no see! It feels that way! It has been a really LONGGGG weekend. We sold our wares at the town square, and got rained out on Sunday--and it was bad. Thank goodness we had bought a tent, and tarps! (We are new to this selling outside stuff--we use to have our own shop)....Anyway--I feel like I got hit by a mack truck, and am glad it's over for the month.

My husband took a mid-term exam (he's a junior in college at 60 years of age), and he made a 98--so to celebrate his good grade, I went thrifting and to the scrapbooking store!!LOL...I got a TON of stuff for $20, including a beautiful, beautiful child's book...which I will scan and share tomorrow maybe...Note: Sweet husband is scanning them now..

Wow..it really was an ok weekend though...I did pretty good money wise, and found an old french magazine, and two real photo postcards. Then today--I found SO MANY old children's books, and old fake flowers, and stamps..two HUGE ones--for a quarter a piece....and other goodies.

I restrained myself at the scrapbooking store, and only bought 3 sheets of paper. I have so much of that stuff, that I really don't need more.

I took a nap--and then got up and made this:

I guess I will close now, and do some more art! Everyone have a wonderful evening!!
