whew! I am glad that this weekend is over!!

Sunday, September 30, 2007 Edit This 1 Comment »
We sold stuff this weekend at our town square trade day, and with the husband being broken, I had to do it all myself. I am too lazy for this job--lol..Boy, am I tired!

I bought a few new books to cut-up, and some great pieces of hardware for assemblage art!! I have never actually DONE assemblage art, but hey! if I ever decide to---I have plenty of stuff to do it with!!LOL...there wasn't much out there this weekend. I will probably have to go buying at a mid-week flea market to finish getting my fix.

That's about it--I need to go get some stuff done tonight, since I have been gone all weekend--I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!!!

Wednesday, September 26, 2007 Edit This 12 Comments »

hi! This is this morning's Gilmore Girls art...LOL.

Tonight's Piece

Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Edit This 5 Comments »
Whew--this one was a stinker. I had it all done, and loved it, then took swirl stamps and went all over the edges. I then HATED it...LOL..so, I had to do some creative slicing and dicing and put it back together again..

The husband is doing well! He's playing catch up in his college classes, and moving around now. I have him off all meds, and he's only taking Tylenol..so, he's more alert and awake throughout the day!

We got our new computer. The screen is HUGE, and it's got enough memory to play all day, without re-booting!! The old computer had to be rebooted after every two or three web pages.

I have to sell antiques this weekend, and since my helper is wounded--I am going to have to do it by myself, which I am going to hate! So, if I don't write for a few days--you know that I am still stewing over having to do manual labor..LOL.

Monday Morning Makings

Monday, September 24, 2007 Edit This 6 Comments »
I did these two this morning while watching re-runs of the Gilmore Girls. I am totally addicted to that show, and watch it twice daily! Yes, I even make plans for my day around it...LOL..I am buying the DVD package of it for my Christmas present to myself..and then I am going to watch it constantly. My pieces just flow when it's on...LOL..I am also addicted to Crossing Jordan...but that's about it..well--unless you count The Closer, and Saving Grace..Ok..that's all the shows that I watch--which has NOTHING to do with these two pieces...LOL..

Fish in Trees--Wednesday Stamper Challenge--FISH and Saturday Stamper Challenge--TREES

Monday, September 24, 2007 Edit This 18 Comments »
This is the first one for Wednesday Stamper--Fish. This is an image, with foam stamped seaweed, and fish cut-outs. I then went over the whole thing with a hazey blue chalk pad.
Then I did this one--for Wednesday Stampers Challenge--FISH, and Saturday Stampers--Trees. The Tree is a mixture of a foam stamp, and a Stampin Up leaf stamp.

A new piece from yesterday--and my ribbon doll

I bought this ribbon doll at the first of the month at our city trade day--She is such a beauty!!! I just found her tonight...LOL..had forgotten where I put her.
And this is another piece that I did last night.

I am tagged!

Sunday, September 23, 2007 Edit This 2 Comments »
Thank you Jo Capper-Sandon for tagging me..LOL..(if you could only hear how dry, and unemotionally I just said that...LOL)

I have to tell you something about me using 3 letters of my middle name--which is easy because my middle name is KIM.

K--is for Kimberly. She is my beautiful daughter, and has been the saving grace of my life. In fact, her middle name is Grace. I love you SHE WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING!!
I--is for Intelligence. I have always thought myself to be very intelligent. It has come in handy, getting me out of the scrapes that the Stupid side of my brain has gotten me into...LOL.
M--is for Mean. Up until about 7 years ago, I had a mean streak in me. This was reserved for only those deserving of it.

Now, I have to tag 3 people...which I might do later...but right now, I am enjoying my first cup of coffee, and can't think beyond my little 3 letters.

Thanks Jo!!!

Sitting here bored today, and did 10 pieces....

Friday, September 21, 2007 Edit This 9 Comments »
The husband had a rough day today---so, I sat nearby, while he snoozed on and off--and basically just glued my heart out. I will be glad when he is off the meds, and can feel good again! I miss my silly, funny man! We were going to get things done today--like going and getting our new computer--but he just wasn't up for it! So, here's the product of today's sitting at home--doing nothing....

My Husband's Progress, Some Thrifts and 2 pieces.

Friday, September 21, 2007 Edit This 6 Comments »

Well, we went to the arm doc today, and they recast my husband's arm--no surgery there--THANK GOD! So..he's on the road to recovery without surgery! As I was talking him to the doctor's office this morning, we hit a yard sale, and I bought an old kitchen cabinet! It has glass doors, and a drawer, then two doors beneath--for $15!!!!!!! I almost fainted. I bought it, and didn't even know how I was going to get it home! I also bought some other things for $5...but for the life of me, I can't remember what!
I also stopped at a thrift store on the way home, and bought two of most amazing ribbon embroidery pillows!! For $1.50 each.
I guess these two things eased the attitude that I got at the doctor's for having to sit in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours.
On the way home from that--well, we drove by the yard sale that my cabinet was at--and there was my brother-in-law!!! He had his truck--what a blessing! He brought the cabinet home for me, so that dilemma was solved!!
Came home--took a nap--and then got up and made 4 new pieces. I am only showing two--because the others did not scan well! So, that is about it..goodnight everyone!

Just some stuff--and my husband's progress

Tuesday, September 18, 2007 Edit This 4 Comments »
Well, we went to the facial surgeon this afternoon, and my husband can do without surgery. He is going to have an indentation in his upper cheek (not bad, just a small one), and at this time--the surgeon felt like any surgery was going to be purely cosmetic. My husband is actually doing A LOT better after talking to him--I think that the fear of surgery was weighing very heavy on his mind. Thank you for all the emails, and prayers. Let's hope the news is just as good on his arm.

Here's two pieces that I have thrown together, the last two nights.

My Husband is Broken, and My Dog Thinks He Can Fly...

Saturday, September 15, 2007 Edit This 6 Comments »
Whew...it's been a strange last 24 hours--my husband was in a four wheeler accident yesterday, and broke his face (literally in 4 places), and his arm. He's an older gentleman, so--it scared the heck out of me! I had to rush him to the emergency room, and he has to facial reconstruction surgery Monday to fix him. They put his arm in a cast, so that will probably heal with no problem. He's doing fine, they sent him home, and I am keeping him on his meds, so that he sleeps through most of this. I did finally get him to eat some food today--I am sure it wasn't comfortable, but he needs to eat.

This morning I was outside with Petey the Wonder Dog, and we were on the front porch. He was chasing flies and such--and he was on the top step. (Our porch is about 4 feet off the ground)...He's watching this fly..his little head held high...he was going to get his target (I think he eats them, which is GROSS!)...and he leaps off the top step..Not to the ground but to mid-air--and SPLAT...I laughed until I almost cried..and I am thinking to myself--if this dog breaks his leg, I am letting him in the house, and I am going to get in my car, and going to my house in Florida. Let the two of them take care of each other...LOL...

OOOOOhhhhhhh!!! I GOT A BIG GOODIE TODAY--and 2 New Pieces...

Thursday, September 13, 2007 Edit This 5 Comments »

"ONE ROSE" 8 1/2 X 10 on mat board w/stand

Well, today I took our laptop to the doctor today, it has been sick...so, as we sat there, talking to the sweetest young man about it, he pulled out these large paper tags, and I asked for some!!!LOL...He gave me a few of them--and didn't even question "WHY" I wanted them...LOL. I was so excited!! Free cool tags--with strings!! (I will alter one tonight for your enjoyment!

Anyway--we asked this young man about buying a computer. What brand would he buy, etc...He asked what brand we had now, and we told him that in 1999, my husband had our computer custom built, and that we loved it, but it was getting old..etc...So, the young man tells us of a place, right around the corner--where they will custom build us a computer. So, we leave the computer hospital, and we drive literally around the corner--and we go in this place. The person at the counter is great, and starts telling us what they can do, and what they have----AND WE BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!...dancing a jig here (see below!)...

We are going to have a gazillion megs of RAM, and a tremendous hard drive, and A 19 inch WIDE SCREEN---DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS???? It means that on one screen, I can visit 3-4 of you all at one time!!!!LOL. Ohhh, it's going to be dreamy!!! The best thing is that it cost $793.00...for EVERYTHING--I feel like that is certainly a great deal! It'll be ready in a couple of weeks---so, I will let you all know!!

This morning while watching "Gilmore Girls", I did these two pieces. The "One Rose" one is done on an old picture frame back, you know--the cardboard kind with the big stand thingie attached! It is soooooo cool, because it stands up by itself!! The second one is 6 x 9, with old ledger paper as the background from Jamie at Tales From the Terra-Cottage. Also, the band across the bottom came from her--(I hope she doesn't mind me using it--it was TOO pretty to pass up!) She also has awesome stuff in her Etsy store--Art-e-ology--so hop over there and get some!

Ok--off to see the Wizard..the wonderful Wizard of Oz...Everyone have a fantastical, great, happy, artistic night!!!!

Chocolate!

Thursday, September 13, 2007 Edit This 6 Comments »
This was an old chocolate ad--I added it to a piece gone wild...LOL..This piece literally has about 6 layers on it. I started it yesterday, and kept adding, and adding, and adding. The picture below this one is what it looked like before I added the woman with all the delicious chocolate...LOL. It started out as a simple woman's face from a magazine, that I painted, and then cut up, and glued down, then..added, added, added...

The doll did not scan as well as I would have liked--It has a witch's hat with a metal star at the top, and a skull and crossbone charm in front--a bat charm hangs at it's neck, with a clock embellishment under that. She has cloth leaves clothing, and a rhinestone embellishment at her waist. She is BEAUTIFUL, and I LOVE HER!! THANK YOU HEATHER!!!!!!! She sent me something orange, just like Lori did yesterday! I have just been creating and putting pictures up...SHE WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING came for a visit today, and Petey the Wonderdog (who is NEUROTIC beyond belief) almost chewed her up. It was funny! (HINT: MAYBE you should visit your wonderful mother MORE OFTEN--and the dog would KNOW you)...LOL...Anyway--S.W.K.E. brought her man with her. He's very sweet, and I hope she keeps him. This week--I am not mad at either one of them, so this week I like him...who knows how I will feel next week, though.

The Husband is working his tail off in college, and has little time for anything fun--the good side of this is that I spend a crazy amount of time making things...the bad side is ..I miss going anywhere!!!

Nothing has happened this week. I keep telling all of you--I am making art, because--I have no life...LOL..I hope you all are enjoying my daily pictures. Thank you all for the wonderful comments! They make me feel somewhat warm and fuzzy!

Well--I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead! Good-night!

Wow--One week has passed--and it's been a busy one! We sold antiques and collectibles on Sat, Sun, and Mon. at the local Trade Day. Sitting out in the hot sun, and heat. I haven't quite recuperated yet. I am sore all over, and very tired. (I didn't sleep well over the weekend). So, give me today--and I will be back to posting like crazy--I hope! I have missed seeing all of your new work, and visiting!!

The good thing is...we did very well! We had a good time, and I found 136 cabinet cards and old photos! I am going to post some of them for you to take as freebies (as soon as I catch up!). I also bought some old letters, and some books...and my husband got himself a new box of baseball cards, so he's happy!

Well...I am going to go visit a few, and then get busy on some challenges!
