What to do today??? I am all caught up with laundry, dishes, ...ummmm the house could use a little cleaning, but I can do that throughout the day...nothing to mail, nothing to do...any suggestions?? LOL.. maybe a nap..then, I thought about praticing drawing figures and faces for the upcoming Anne Bagby class. Also, maybe a journal page or two...and maybe a painting or two...LOL..

I am starting part two of my journaling class on Oct. 9th. I am so happy that the girls want to take another class!! I have been working on the classes in my head, and I have pop-ups, carving into pages, making doors and windows, and making a 3-D thingamabobber...(don't know what to call it, but it will COOL, and provide secret pockets...LOL. ) So, I hope they have fun!!

Hello!! When I was out today dropping my artwork off to get it framed--I stopped in the Unclaimed Baggage place (thrift store/retail store)...and bought these HUGE poster pens!! They are so cool, and I thought that they would be great for journaling!!

Well, nothing else is going on--I have just been tired, and was a couch potato today..too much painting this last 3 days. I have to get up in the morning with a fresh attitude--because I have to get ready to sell this upcoming weekend on our town square.

This came in the mail today!!! I have one thing to say--BUY THIS BOOK!!!
It is page after delicious page of EYE CANDY GOODNESS!!! The pages are beautifully done, the entire thing is written in the author's own writing, and it's just GORGEOUS! This would make a beautiful present to someone that enjoys beauty! It's a pretty thick book too, so you get your money's worth!!






I had never heard of this woman until I ran across this--but, I am happy that I did.

No pictures of my last class--because stupid ME left my camera at home. Sorry!! I made everyone a little shrunken journal page, mounted it on clayboard, and put a hanger on it. I also burnt them a CD of images to take home and use. I am going to miss my Thursday night class, and really hope that we can continue!! The Art League has another class booked for Thursday nights through October, so, if that falls through--then we are on! I was told tonight though that I can submit syllabus's for as many classes as I want to teach...LOL..so, I have about 20 days to learn how to create about 9 gazillion classes to teach this winter. I am also allowed now to show in their gallery, but I don't think that I have enough pieces to do so. So, maybe this week will be magical, and I will paint all the canvas that I have (probably around 65), and then I can fill the gallery...LOL..or NOT. (Don't hold your breath--I REALLY FEEL A VACATION COMING ON).

Someone complimented me on how well my pieces looked matted--Thank you!! Then they asked if it was costly. I have to admit that I only paid $4 a piece (for mat and backing). The frame shop owner is a friend of mine. She's a wonderful lady, and I will make her very, very rich if I EVER win the lottery, or hit the "bigtime". I am very lucky and grateful for to have her!!

Well, I am very tired, and a bit ornery--so off to bed I go..Petey the Wonderdog will wake me at 8, so I need some sleep.

Song stuck in my head..."Another one bites the dust, and another one's gone and another one's gone..."....LOL..geesh!!!

Yesterday, I went and picked up 35 pieces of my art that I had taken to the frame shop to have matted. WOW!! It's a shocking difference on some pieces! Some of the pieces, I had done on vintage file folders, and I liked the mixed media collage, but what do you do with a file folder??? They are gorgeous!! This is the first time that you have heard me brag on my own work, but the mats just made a world of difference!! I am going to do all of my pieces like this--it's just so cool!! I love them!

On a more calmer note: Here's our apple tree in our back yard. It's got these great apples on it, full to the point of breaking. The deer come out every night when it starts to get dark, and they FEAST on these apples.

I won't let my husband pick many of them--because I really don't want our deer to go hungry. They are so beautiful! We normally have any where from 3 - 8 feeding back there, and I am adamant about keeping the hunters off of our land! It's a chore sometimes, and some days, it seems like Nature Boy and his brother (our next door neighbor), are constantly riding our four wheelers back there to stop someone from shooting...**sigh..that just reminded me that "hunting season" is coming up soon...Got to keep a close eye on Petey the Wonderdog when Nature Boy takes him back in the woods (There's a gazillion acres of woods behind our house.)

Speaking of Petey the Wonderdog--Yesterday--the stupid Fed Ex guy drove up AFTER 5 pm, and got out to deliver a package. Petey was out, walking with Nature Boy, and of course Petey goes charging after the Fed-Ex guy (who gives me the willy-nillies by the way..he's just CREEPY). So, Nature Boy tells me the guy FED Petey SOMETHING. Let me tell you--I went ballistic. WHAT did this CREEPOLA feed my dog??? I called the company, but of course I got an answering machine...I worried myself almost sick that he had poisoned my dog...Petey acted fine last night, but I know that man has to come back here, and bring me more stuff....so, you just wait until I get ahold of him. He'll be wishing that he'd poisoned himself! LOL LOL....

Anyway--Last night, I made each of my students a surprise gift. A Thank You gift since this is technically my last night of class, because we haven't talked to my boss lady about everyone paying for another month. I really hope she lets us continue!! I will show you all my gift, tonight when I get home!!

Well, I have bored you enough with my crazy ramblings...I hope everyone has a HAPPY, FUN, WONDERFUL day!!

Wow!! I love people!! They are so fantastic!! I was asked to put one of my new paintings on Etsy..and yesterday forgot to do it (because I am forgetful, above all else..), and so this morning I was contacted asking where it was. I put it on Etsy, and poof..gone, sold. Thank you so much!!! I appreciate it!!

Nothing much is happening on the home front--typical stuff--Nature Boy is doing school work all day, and Petey the Spoiled Wonderdog is driving us crazy with his demands. He wants on the porch, off the porch, on the porch, off the porch...ALL DAY back and forth. Whimper, Whimper, Bark...followed by obsessive tail wagging as he dictates the actions of two grown humans. (Actually, Nature Boy would probably let him sit out there and whine, but I won't). So, I have to get Nature Boy to go do not only Petey's bidding, but mine also. (Poor Nature Boy, he has a rough life...heheheheheh).

I got an email yesterday, and the lady that is hosting Anne Bagby's (swoon!!!) class said that it was FULL, and I got the LAST SPOT!! So, I AM THERE!! WOOOHOOOOO!! I could have gotten a spot because I called her and BEGGED..told her I would sit on the floor in the corner, crawl on my knees to Tennessee, or do whatever it took to make the class. Persistance pays off. Now, all I have to do is NOT hyperventilate for a month and a half from excitement!!

Well..that's about it...off to the art room..

I was sitting and watching Army Wives this evening, and I slapped together the beginning of a painting on watercolor paper...it's all pink and girly..don't know where that came from...LOL...it has a long way to go...

WOOOHOOO...I am on a roll today...Two works in progress finished, one art journal page finished, another near completion, and I cooked a huge Sunday dinner..(black-eyed peas, chicken and dressing, and vegetables..)

Here is my newest piece. I finished it tonight! I couldn't figure out what to do with it, so I took the original picture of it, opened it in Paint Shop Pro, and "cloned" different things into the blank space. Then I chose one of them, and painted the original to match. So, my new painting will be available on ETSY tomorrow!

Yesterday, I was out blog jumping, and I ran across a video. It was on a blog called PINCH ME TO SEE IF YOU'RE DREAMING . I watched it, and it's stuck in my head. Go HERE to see it. It's about telling you that you really don't know what someone is feeling, and they may act one way outwardly (like online or in public), but something TOTALLY different may be going on in their head. It really does make you (at least it did me!) more empathetic to other people.

Hello!! I am going to be loving these real canvas' (instead of the panels that I normally paint on!)... These are 3 out of the 4 Works In Progress that I worked on tonight..I didn't get to start until about 8 o'clock..or I could have gotten more started..

I think that I am going to venture into something totally new for me, and add beeswax to these at the end. If I do, I will be sure to do a tutorial for everyone--since, I have never done it before. I have had the small crock pot, and many colors of natural beeswax for a long time.





That's it folks!! I don't know where these pieces will lead, but I am having a blast, working on canvas again!!

A little while ago, I won a Blog Giveaway from Seth at the Altered Page. This is what he sent me... All of it was wrapped up SO VERY PRETTY, and stamped with personalized things!! This was really like Christmas!!

These are some of the beautiful scrapbook papers that he sent--and he sent a photo of himself--age 11!!! (Not really--WELL--MAYBE)...LOL..I don't REALLY know that this is SETH, but I love the photo, and am going to hang him in my art room, and call him Seth...hehehehe...
Notice the wrapped paper with a water faucet, and my name dripping out of it...I love it!!!HEY WAIT A MINUTE!!! Are you calling me a drip??? LOL...hehehe. Nature Boy loved it. (I think Nature Boy secretly wants to be a collage artist--he's WAY too involved with liking my goodies!!) I also loved the long red envelope with all the different colored numbers stamped on it. I might have to make a painting, and attach that one!!

I received this gorgeous "Dust Fairy" ACEO/ACT card in the mail from my cyber friend Teresa!! Thank you Teresa!! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!

So, why am I embarrassed YOU ASK?? Well, I just found this on my coffee table under several books that I have been looking through. It was in an unopened envelope--post marked Aug.25th. I am so sorry Teresa!!!

Nature Boy (my husband) must have brought the mail in, and it got covered up. The last few weeks have been a bit cyclonic here, and I was just getting around to straightening up the living room...

First I HAVE TO TELL YOU--if you never order another book--BUY THE one that I ordered from Amazon--THE ACRYLIC REVOLUTION. It is clear, concise, and covers all you need to know about painting! I have bought MANY, MANY books about painting--some/if not most are a basic waste of my time and money. This book WAS NOT. It is BRILLIANT!!

I LOVE THIS!!! It's so beautiful, and it was an unexpected gift from one of my great students in my class. Her name is Leslie and her blog is called Leslie Wood's Vintage Arts. She does awesome things, has a great sense of color usage, and is generally a great person!!! (I'm not just saying these things!! Check out her blog for yourself!!) Thank you Leslie!! I will treasure my little doll. She is hand painted, and has a transfer face--AMAZING!!!!

Good Morning!! I think one of my favorite things is--The First Sip of Coffee in the morning. It just determines if your day is going to be good or bad. I use to love going to New Orleans with my friend Wade (my Siamese twin friend--we were connected at the hip-- in the high school years), and getting there early in the morning, and having coffee in the French Quarter. I remember how thick and sweet it was, and we'd sit outside at one of the many little cafes, and plan our day. Sometimes, I miss Wade, but I REALLY miss New Orleans coffee..heehhee. (I must have dreamt about him--because he's on my mind today. He ran off to Hollywood, and actually works now on several shows that have been on TV (not ON the shows, but behind the scenes.)

Anyhow..I woke up this morning to a Pfatt Marketplace SELL!!! (Thank you!). I have two more "journal pages" available there--so hop on over, and help yourself! I am writing a book. It's just something that I have been toying with, and I couldn't figure out a title...but it came to me this morning.."SATAN WEARS LIME GREEN"...How's that for a title? It's about Satan, and he comes to earth. He is disguised as woman, a housewife-- with thick jowls, a fat, bulbous nose and dark beady, hate-filled eyes. Satan gathers material possessions because he thinks that those will things will make him something that he's NOT--- here on earth. It's going to be about all these things that he thinks he IS, and all of them turn out to be something totally different...ummmmm...I guess I need to illustrate it too..LOL.. my brain is obviously either 1. not working at all--or 2. seriously working overtime...LOL.

Oh my goodness..I didn't really make it (my art for the PFATT MARKETPLACE,) but fortunately I have backups for everything..lol...what day is it?? I cannot think tonight!! I have broken down and ate chocolate ice cream--which I HAVEN'T eaten since that fateful day that I announced on here that I was giving up ICE CREAM. I think the small bowl that I allowed myself has sugar-saturated my brain..and I just cannot think.

I spilled a whopping, HUGE cup of coffee ALL over the art room--so, I spent an hour of my life, washing EVERYTHING off. Of course, it went EVERYWHERE (walls, papers, books, rubber stamps, tools, carpet, etc).

I SO need a vacation..Two more months, and I'll have to go to Florida--home--I have decided that I want to go the Arts Festival there. I miss it terribly. Funny, how I miss the event, but not any people...LOL.

Ok..I am rambling like an idiot..I must go to bed!!!

..THAT I HAVE TILL MIDNIGHT TO get my things ready for this month's PFATT MARKETPLACE!!!! ARGHHHHH...I completely have let time slide and now I must do something...lol. Luckily for me, I work well under pressure!! I mean, I have been working on some things--but, I have to paint them, and glue them, and add some pink glittery goodness--OH OK..So, I'm not going to add any pink glittery anything to them. You all know that I have been charged by THE PINK GLITTER POLICE, and no longer am allowed to glitter stuff. I will leave that to more capable humans.

I have woke up this morning, and I am literally about to burst!! I have so many ideas, and thoughts. Unfortunately, I ran out of printer ink (several colors), so--I am on hold until I can go to the big city tomorrow and go to Staples. Today is for grocery shopping and PFATT MARKETPLACE.

Good morning!! I can think again!! LOL. I am not so tired this morning, and can actually tell you a little more about the class. One of the women taking the class has been published in Stampington's Holidays & Celebrations (on sale Sept.1), and she does the coolest little Junk Angels!! Her website is called Leslie Wood's Vintage Arts. Go check them out!! Congrats Leslie on being published!! (all of her stuff is completely awesome)!

ok..I'm procrastinating, and hyper-ventilating. What are they going to think when they walk in, and the instructor (ME) has a brown paper bag over her head, and is trying to breath..maybe they'll rush me to the hospital..and we'll have to cram the whole class into an ambulance. "Grab those nose mask, ladies, we'll collage them onto our pages next week!!", "Save that ..(thinking that I have NEVER been in an ambulance--so I have no clue as to what they use/throw away in one of those things...LOL). Is there anything on a defibrillator that we can use??? "Hold on a minute ladies--I'm stroking out here, and they are just going to jolt me with a gazillion bolts of electricity...but the class will Continue!!!"

I hate being in the spotlight. OMG..I act really goofy when I get nervous...WHAT if they laugh at me, or worse--WHAT if they DON'T???????ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This is just a fine time to figure out that I don't drink or take medications of ANY kind!!! LOL...

ok..I have vented. I am ready to act like an adult, and go do what I am committed to do. I just hope that I don't leave the house with big-girl panties stuck to the back of my head....

Hello!! I finally got up this morning, and got motivated to crawl to the coffee pot, and try to come alive..Of course--it's 3 in the afternoon, but who is going to be technical??? Anyway--I have returned, and have been looking for images to use as my "FREEBIES" to you all. I will try to get those up and to you later today.

It has been a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants weekend!!! We started out with 7 or 8 tables FULL of stuff, and 5 large pieces of furniture, and we brought home not even a whole table full--so, I was busy, busy, busy!! It was so MISERABLY hot out there, that in my brain, I was whining the whole 3 days. The customers all looked hot and like they were NOT having fun. But, I survived. Sunday night I came home, and showered, sat on the couch at 6:30pm, fell over, and woke up 9 hours later!!! LOL..I have NEVER slept 9 whole hours in my life at one time!! You all know that I don't sleep much, so, I must of been pooped beyond repair! Thank God it's over, and now, I HAVE to go buy more stuff!! Some of you email me this weekend, and remind me to find some estate sales, flea markets or SOMETHING!!!LOL. If I don't go shopping, I will be out there with my 3/4 of a table, and people will be feeling sorry for me..hehehe

I have also been trying to finish getting my studio back together, and even though it looks better--it's still not done yet! ANDDDDDDDD....I have the class starting in 2 days!! I have to get their goodie packages up and ready for them, not to mention--FIGURE out WHAT I am going to teach...LOL...If you read this send ideas..WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO LEARN IF YOU WERE TAKING THE CLASS--come on ya'll...I NEED YOUR HELP HERE!

Well..that's about it. I am heading for the art room now. I have missed it terribly..and even though I have more to tell you--I need to get busy. I have missed my friends in blogland...and I will get you your freebies later today!
